I had a very frustrating wake-up/leaving my house this morning...
And on my way to work I was focused on so many negative things and felt rushed amidst the slow traffic, when all of a sudden I happened to glance up and note the beautiful morning sky. A wave of peace hit me, and a revelation came of just how often we miss/can miss the beauty and reality of God in our lives. And in the world for that matter. Here I was in my Jeep liberty rushing to work and pouting at life, when above me there was a vastness of beauty just waiting to be noticed. Just waiting. The depths of the clouds and the rays of the sunshine and the brightness of colors was immensely captivating to the mind. It brought with it peace, and awe, and so much rest to my Spirit. I felt really small in that moment and also very glad that I have a God who is bigger than my circumstances and provides a way to peace. I wonder how many times I have missed God when He was right there in front of me wanting me to be captivated and in view of Him and nothing else. He is so big and intricate, yet we still miss Him every single day. How? I am on a search for this answer. I believe it will provide a way to so much peace, and rest, and beauty hidden within.
